Locations: South Park Inn and Saint Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center
Friday 09/03/21:
We again have Deanna help us out with getting the donated goods. Due to the Soup Kitchen’s recent re-opening, we decided that for this weekend again we would split any of the donated items from Panera between the shelters in Hartford.
With her help, it enabled Ashlei with the help of Lili to go and distribute the rest of the dry goods to the local pantries.
We ended up distributing to 6 of the 7 locations we received as there was 1 where we could not locate the area to drop off items. While we were distributing the items we had many come up and thank us for filing the pantry with goods. they were not all the same size so we were only able to share what actually fit within them. Many also had items left by other people and we adjusted the amount we left due to that. We are happy to say that between all 6 pantries we found, we were able to distribute the last of the boxes of dry goods we had!
Although we couldn’t take pics of all of them, due to location and or time of day, we were able to capture a few.
The locations we went to (in order) were:
- 566 Zion St.
- 202 Laurel St.
- Corner of Garden and Mather St.
- 70 North Beacon St
- 40 Evergreen St.
- 968 W. Boulevard
On Saturday we received confirmation that all goods were dropped off at the shelters by 11 am by Deanna. Although the donated amount was smaller this weekend, we know both shelters appreciated it.
Until our Next Event,
Stay Safe! Stay H.O.P.E.F.U.L!
