Locations: Cornerstone Soup Kitchen, South Park Inn, St. Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center
Day Before the Shelter Run:
This Friday the pick-up location was Panera. We, fortunately, had Ashlei and her mom pick up the donations. Thanks to Panera we were able to get 3 big boxes of bread and 5 smaller boxes of pastries and a batch of cookies. This was a week we were able to return to the soup kitchen with donations, we were very happy about that. As they were more evenly spread we didn’t need to sort them individually and all we needed was to wait for Saturday’s drop-off.
Day of the Shelter Run:
This morning, we had a special visitor/volunteer with us. Abigail brought along her granddaughter who helped us carry in some of the pastry boxes into the shelters, she was really excited.
She and Ashlei met up at the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen to have that be the first stop. We were very happy to see them again. Once the drop-off was done, we went towards the South Park Inn, the stop was fast as they were ready for us. The last stop was the St. Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center, where the little one we had with us, Alex, was very excited to inside and explore. They were very welcoming and let us again go inside the facility to drop off the items this week. We made sure each location had 1 box of bread and at least a mix between the pastries and the cookies.
We really look forward to expanding on all of our connections with them. We are excited about what’s next.
Until our next event,
