07/03/21 Shelter Run

Locations: South Park Inn, Saint Elizabeth House & Friendship Center

Day Before Donation Pick-ups:

For this Friday night, we only had one of us available for the donations pick-up. We ended up only getting donations from Panera this Friday. We were able to gather 2 boxes full of bread and 4 small boxes of mixed sweet treats. The deliveries would be for the 2 Hartford Shelters as we had such a good split of the items. There were no pictures for this pick-up as well due to the rainy weather we were having all day.

Day of the Deliveries:

On Saturday, Ashlei delivered all of the donations in Hartford with the help of her mom. We had arranged for 1 box of bread and 2 boxes of the mixed sweet treats to be delivered to the South Park Inn. The other box of bread and the last 2 boxes of the mixed sweet treats to be delivered to the St. Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center. The deliveries were done by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday due to both locations being close to one another.

This Saturday was a bit different when we arrived at the St. Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center. When we arrived we were actually led inside and were able to see more of their facility. We were guided towards their kitchen and dining area, we were also able to see them start preparing the lunch menu for that day. It was also a great opportunity to talk to them and they also asked us to add our name to their donations log. This was really exciting because although we have gone and made donation runs since February of this year, we were never given a chance to fully go inside or talk to them more in-depth. We definitely look forward to our relationship evolving more and for our opportunity to grow and help them along our journey.
