Locations: Cornerstone Foundation Soup kitchen, South Park Inn, Saint Elizabeth House & Friendship Center
Day Before The Event
After last week, we were hoping for a good collection of treats this week and we definitely weren’t disappointed. I, Katie, worked that afternoon and by the time 10 p.m. rolled around, we definitely weren’t let down by the outcome of what was left for donuts. Ashlei met me at Dunkin and we packaged everything that night. It was a quiet night with lots to do. We were able to have three trays for each location, for a total of 599 items (this includes the 388 munchkins we were able to wrap into bag counts of 8 or 6 depending on the size of the munchkins). We were unable to take pictures this week, but hopefully, we will be able to next week.
Day of the Event
The morning of the event got off to a little bit of a late start but it was started with a nice homemade breakfast between Ashlei, Abby, and I(Katie). First, we headed to the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen and dropped off our first delivery then headed to Hartford. Along the way, we discussed a possible project we could do to help benefit the people living in the Hartford area. The conversation lasted all the way to our second drop-off location which was the South Park Inn. Then we continued to the Saint Elizabeth’s House and Friendship Center to make the last drop-off.
We are thinking about ways we could help and improve the areas we typically visit in Hartford that could use a little help. More to come on that project but we would like to wish you a happy weekend and a blessed week.
Our next event is on 05/08/21.
